This article is being written at the same time as I’m building my website.
I’m just documenting the process here, so if you’re reading this, that would mean my website is nearly online.

Before getting started with this tutorial, let me first tell you a bit about WHY I decided to build my own website:

Why build your own (affiliate) website?

The main reason is: freedom.

• Freedom to post & publish what you want
• I’ve been writing on Medium, and you have to comply with their guidelines. Not that that’s a problem, but SHOULD — by any chance — my account get taken offline, then at least I’ll have a backup of all my articles.
• More possibilities: sell products, freely promote stuff… your website is YOURS, so you can use it however you see fit.
• More reach! If you do your SEO right, you’ll get your content out there for more people to see.
• And finally: more income possibilities. You can monetize your own website in a numerous ways — while on other platforms, you’re dependent on their monetization system.
