How I’m Keeping Track of my Income & Expenses in 2023
My Personal Tool for Effective Personal Finance Management
Introduction
If you’ve been following me, you have probably read my 100k income plan for 2023 — if not, you can read it here:
As a part of this challenge, it’s of course important to TRACK my income (and my expenses) — how else will I know if I have achieved my goal?
For this purpose, I started working on an Excel file. In this file, I am writing down every income and expense transaction that I made since the beginning of the year. It’s a bit of work, but let me tell you, it’s extremely useful!
TRANSACTIONS
So first of all, I have my transactions log. This is the basis of the whole sheet.
Every day (or sometimes every few days), I review my bank statements and I write down every income or expense that I had that day.
As you can see from the screenshot above, there are a few columns.
